Student at Law

Scott is an articling student with a particular interest in corporate/commercial law. Having been involved in many startups, he enjoys working on new entrepreneurial projects and innovative tech. Being a student, he came to Spark with the hopes of expanding his exposure in different fields of law, with the belief that legal services should be an easy and seamless experience for all clients.

Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.

Scott completed his undergraduate business degree at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson). Soon after, he enrolled at Osgoode Law, where he then decided that 7 years of higher education wasn’t enough, he chalked up an 8th for good measure, earning his MBA at the Schulich School of Business. During his JD/MBA, he played a leading role at Osgoode’s Emerging Technology Association, with a focus on studying emerging trends in tech and law. He further completed his MBA thesis by conducting a business strategy outlook for one of Canada’s leading private healthcare firms. Scott has also served as a certified mediator within Osgoode’s Mediation Clinic, frequently attending court to help resolve disputes amongst community members.

Scott has been involved in numerous startups, ranging from different apps to even food retail. The process helped to teach him about many of the challenges new entrepreneurs face, both with legal difficulties and general strategy. Scott remains an active member of Toronto’s startup community. Outside of his entrepreneurial focus, Scott has spent an extensive amount of time serving as a mentor within the Osgoode and Schulich community. He has helped to guide many students both prelaw and well into their legal and MBA studies navigate the academic and personal challenges that come with being a student.

In his spare time, Scott enjoys going for hikes, keeping his personal aquarium, and reading (book recommendations always welcome).
